Evelia Maria Calles, age 55 of Murphysboro, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on November 15, 1967 in El Platanal, Tejupilco, Mexico, the daughter of Panciano Maria Duran and Rosa Calles Vargas.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosalva Diego Maria and Carmen Diego Maria; four grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Maria Calles and Francisco Maria Calles; two sisters, Fausta Maria Calles and Teodola Maria Calles; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial mass for Evelia Maria Calles will be held at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating.
