Eugene I Hartsock

Eugene I. Hartsock, age 53 of Anna, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born September 12, 1971 to Danny and Karen (Porter) Hartsock. He married Emily Miller on July 1, 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Emily of Anna; daughters, Allison (Dylan) McCann of Anna, Ashley Hartsock and fiancé Hunter Compton of Carbondale; step-children, Sophia (D. Harris) DeRossett of Alton, Jonathan (Chelsie) DeRossett of West Frankfort, Samuel (Olivia) DeRossett of New Haven, MI, Gabriella (Kenneth) Trimble of Herrin, and Francesca ( Wade) Rieger of Alton; grandchildren, Colton, Andrew, and Gavin McCann, Roselle Hall, Margeaux Harris, Adler, Everett, Sage, Theo, Lydia, and Oliver DeRossett, Tony Trimble, and Caterina Gammons; sister, Yvonne (Danny) Windings of Cobden; nieces, Kayle (Eric Yearian) Windings of Elkville, Sydney (Easton) Clark of St. Peters, MO, and Lindsey Windings of Cobden, and nephew, Bradley (Anna) Windings of O'Fallon, IL. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Alexis Jean Hartsock, and step-daughter Lydia DeRossett.

Eugene was a laborer with the Union County Highway Department, a job he loved, and had previously worked for Plaza Tire Service. He was strong in his Christian Faith and believed in acts of service. He could often be found working on a vehicle or helping someone in need.

Services will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
