Ethel Lechtenberger, age 83 of Anna, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born July 15, 1935 in Grantsburg, the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Rector) Mixen. She married Victor Lechtenberger on December 2, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2018. Ethel is survived by her four sons, Lindell (Tracey) Lechtenberger of Anna, Jack (Bev) Richardson of Dongola, Bobby (Melody) Richardson of Anna, and Harold Richardson of New Athens; seven grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Lechtenberger, Armanda Miller, Jacinta (Matt) Hupe, Josh (Breannen) Richardson, Justin (Natalie) Richardson, and Tonya (Clinton) Marshall; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Rossdeutcher of Lick Creek; two brothers, Bobby Lee Mixen and Carl Wayne Mixen both of Anna; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Lechtenberger; son, Lonnie Lynn Lechtenberger; and infant sister, Mary Evelyn Mixen. Ethel was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek. She worked as a cook and waitress at various restaurants and later as a caregiver. Ethel was a kind and caring woman, she was always ready and willing to help someone in need. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Jack Richardson and Pastor Bobby Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
