Ervin L. Johnson

Mr. Ervin Johnson, age 83 of Anna, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at his daughters home in Marion. He was born September 7, 1929 in Balcom, the son of Willie and Ora Johnson. He married Wanda Mae Calhoun on October 7, 1950 in Anna. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2010. Ervin is survived by one son, Michael L. Johnson of Aroma Park; one daughter, Debbie (Bruce) Emery of Marion; one grandson, Mackenzie Johnson; and one granddaughter, Carrie Emery; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Mae Johnson; four brothers in law, Donald, Richard and Delbert Calhoun, and Al Claxton. Ervin was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna and the Knights of Columbus. He worked many years as a Riverboat Chief Engineer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Funeral mass for Mr. Ervin L. Johnson will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna with Father Federico Higuera officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Cobden. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the SIH Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
