Erma G. Martin age 87 of rural Anna, died at 11:47 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at her home. Erma was born on January 13, 1932 in Bowmansville, PA the daughter of Adam and Nancy Stauffer. Erma married Phares W. Martin on December 15, 1951, in Ephrata, PA. They moved to Southern Illinois in 1963 in the interest of church and farming. Later, the family established Martin's Auto Service and Martin's Sharp-All Shop. Erma is survived by three sons and four daughters-in-law; Leon (Julia) Martin of Tenino, WA, Irene Martin of Anna, Edward (Grace) Martin of Anna, Robert (Louise) Martin of Warrensburg, MO; two daughters, Rhoda, wife of Clair Weaver of Dongola and Lois Ann, wife of Joseph Gehman of Anna; 53 grandchildren; 127 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leon Stauffer and Elias (Mary) Stauffer both of PA; two sisters, Lucinda, wife of Mervin Weaver of Johnsonville and Violet, wife of Leonard Martin of Lebanon, PA; one step-brother, Frank (Marilyn) Martin of Guatemala; one step-sister, Rachel, wife of Carl Martin of Lebanon, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Phares Martin; her parents; step-mother, Elizabeth Stauffer; two sons, Glenn Martin and Carl Martin; one sister, Joanna, and her husband Noah Zimmerman; and one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Stauffer. The visitation will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church in Dongola from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Friday, October 18, 2019. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with James Sensenig, Eugene Burkholder, Glenn Martin, Joel Burkholder, and Stanley Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, 55 Cain Road, Dongola, IL. 62926.
