Emilie Marlene (Ulrich) Atwood

Emilie Marlene Atwood (nee Ulrich), 86 of Anna, went to be with our Lord and Savior, while surrounded by her loving family, on August 26, 2022 after her struggles with congestive heart failure. Emilie was born March 5, 1936 in Chicago, the daughter of Kurt and Josephine Ulrich. She married Jackie Dean Atwood on May 14, 1957 in Elgin.

She is survived by her sons Thomas Dean Atwood (Sue) and Scott Russell Atwood (Elisa), daughter-in-law Michelle Atwood, brothers Kurt Joseph Ulrich (Shari) and Richard Paul Ulrich (Pam), as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Dean Atwood,  daughter, Jacqueline Marlene Lape Wohlwend and son, Edward Lee Atwood.

Emilie graduated from St. Anne's Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 as a Registered Nurse and provided care and support for over 35+ years to her patients at Manteno State Hospital and Anna State Hospital before retiring in 1995. Emilie loved her animals; so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to your local chapter of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in Emilie's name.

Graveside funeral services for Emilie Atwood will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion, Illinois. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
