Mrs. Elva Mae "Pete" Manus, age 90, of Anna, died at 4:35 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Hillview Healthcare Center in Vienna. She was born May 27, 1923 in Buncombe, the daughter of Alex and Mary Jane "Polly" Burklow Davis. She married Wayne J. "Doc" Manus on July 5, 1940 in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2005. Pete is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Cecil "Peck") Stearns of Lick Creek, Jo (John) Cunningham of Buncombe; three grandchildren, Jeff Cunningham, Brad (Marsha) Stearns, Carmen (Mike) Dammerman; five great grandchildren, Crystal Duncan, Cassandra Cunningham, Mikayla & Megan Dammerman, Briane Penny; two great-great grandchildren, Brent Duncan and Raelyne Emma Cheek; one sister, Mabel Russell of Texas; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Doc Manus. Pete worked as a mental health technician at Choate Mental Health for twenty six years and later worked at Union County Hospital. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star in Lick Creek. Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Mae "Pete" Manus, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
