Edwin Rushing

    My beloved Edwin Rushing left this world unexpectedly, due to a heart attack, on March 14, 2026, doing something he loved, riding dirt bikes.

    He had many loves in his short life of 55 years. First being his family, wife Cindy, daughter, Journee Kay Rushing and son and son-in-law Austin and John Rider. Second was his love for the outdoors. He loved fishing for crappie, hunting deer and hunting elk in Wyoming and Colorado. He also loved camping with his in-laws, Cathy and Jack and friends from Belleville that became family.

    His third love would be work. Edwin loved his job. He took great pride in it and the work he performed. He was highly respected in his profession across the United States. He prided himself on his work ethic and was proud to pass that onto his children. He worked many hours traveling all over the United States from New York, California to Hawaii. He even got to do a little sightseeing during his downtime. He enjoyed seeing Niagara Falls, Redwood National Forrest, the Pearl Harbor Memorial and Glacier National Forrest.

    Loved ones left behind are his beloved wife of 16 years, Cindy Rushing; daughter, Journee Rushing of Cincinnati, OH; sons, Austin and John rider of Dongola; sister, Penny (Randy) Hindman of Anna; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Jack Kennedy of Dongola; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Molly Ferguson of Newnan, GA; fur babies, Retta and Winnie; many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Kay and Kenneth Rushing, brother, Michael Rushing and mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Carl Ferguson.

    Edwin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

    Funeral services for Edwin Rushing will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Steve Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in American Legion Cemetery in Dongola. Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until the service time at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Cemetery. Envelopes are available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
