Mr. Edwin A. Flamm, age 91 of Cobden, died at 12:27 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna. He was born October 14, 1924 in Cobden, the son of Adolph and Agnes (Bradac) Flamm. He married Mary F. Clutts on April 30, 1949 in Cobden. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1994. Edwin is survived by his two sons, Larry Flamm and Alan (Betsy) Flamm all of Cobden; grandchildren, Keith (Kim) Flamm, Nealy Flamm, Amanda (Jason) Perrault, Julia (Drew) Gaskell, Joshua Flamm and Marissa Flamm; great-grandchildren, Brandon Flamm, Logan Quertermous, Jacie Quertermous, Mikaela Perrault, Joshua Perrault, Hudson Gaskell, Paxton Gaskell, and Georgia Gaskell; one sister, Rosemarry Flamm (Sister Rose Marie) of St. Louis, MO.; one brother, Raymond (Janice) Flamm of Cobden; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary F. Flamm; daughter, Kathy Reeves; baby sister, Loretta; sisters Dolores Osbourne, Agnes Williams, Margorie Arter and Mildred Murphy; brothers, Norbert Flamm and Albert Flamm. Edwin was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. His family, his faith, and the farm were the center of his life. One of his greatest attributes was his ability to remain optimistic in all of life's situations. Edwin loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Other interests included woodworking and aviation. He was a member of the Cobden Lions Club for over forty years and the Union County Hospital Board. Funeral services for Mr. Edwin A. Flamm will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2015 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Uriel Salamanca, Father Federico Higuera and Father Jim Dougherty officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Cobden. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, the rosary will be said at 4:30 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. Joseph Cemetery, or the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
