Edward L. Stone

Edward L. Stone age 87 of Dongola, died Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the Jonesboro Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born November 13, 1931 in Alto Pass, the son of William C. and Ina Z. (Davis) Stone. He married Lillie Dodson on August 12, 1955 in Tamms. Edward is survived by his loving wife of sixty four years, Lillie Stone of Dongola; son, Steve (Laura) Stone of Skokie, daughter, Tina (Chris) Furlong of Aldie, VA; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Dan) Little, Richard Silver; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Haylee Little; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Edward was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He worked many years as a Service Advisor for A-J Motor Co. He loved fishing and traveling to Lake Port and Ft. Myers Beach in Florida. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Perry Williams and Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Dongola. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Cemetery.
