Edward Emery Pearl, age 83 of McClure, died Friday, July 01, 2011 at 12:30 am at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. He was born July 23, 1927 in Cobden, the son of Fred and Jessie (Winn) Pearl. Edward married Irene Henderson in Anna and later married Ruth Pasley on October 4, 1952 in Jonesboro. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2001. Edward proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Frank and Brenda Pearl both of McClure; one son, Edward Pearl of McClure; a step-son, Shelby Pasley of Springfield; one step-daughter Gloria Jean Hand of Springfield; five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Paul and Fred Pearl; a step-daughter, Laura Darnell and a grandson, Colton Pearl. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Bon Reynolds officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Military rites will be conducted by the National Guard Funeral Honors Team in Marion.
