Edith Pearson, age 80 of Cobden, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Provident Memory Care in Livingston, TX. She was born May 24, 1938 in Anna, the daughter of William Butler and Ruby (Forby) Cobb. She married Paul Edward Pearson on January 28, 1957 in Northern Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2017. Edith is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Elmer) Pearson of Ozark, MO, Patricia (Jimmy) Fears of Goodrich, TX; son, Michael (Cathy) Pearson of Kinsman, OH; two grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Detrick, Dylan (Evie) Detrick; one great-grandson, Cayson Michael Detrick and one great-granddaughter, Payton Quinn Detrick; sisters, Pauline Pearson of Cobden, and Barbara Cross of St. Charles, Il; god son, Jeffrey Nance of Cobden; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Edward Pearson; three sisters, Evelyn Lott, Ellen Thomas, and Mae Nance; and one brother, Edward Cobb. Edith was a member of the Makanda Baptist Church. She worked for the Florsheim Shoe Company and later worked as a cook for the Cobden School until her retirement. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Dennis Nance officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
