Edith Ann "Edie" Ice

Mrs. Edith Ann "Edie" Ice, age 59 of Anna, died Friday, January 29, 2016 at her home. She was born October 22, 1956 in Anna, the daughter of Roy "Bud" Jr. and Shirley Ann "Sam" (Poole) Modglin. Edie is survived by her brother, Roy Modglin of Mounds; step-brother Leonard Sadler of Anna; step-sister, Sue Abernathy of Anna; cousins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Edie was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. Edie was a 1974 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, she obtained numerous post graduate degrees from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Edie worked for the State of Illinois for twenty years before her retirement. She worked as an investigator for the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Corrections and Department of Rehabilitation Services. Edie was generous with her time, she volunteered four years as a candy striper at Union County Hospital as well as four years volunteer work at Choate Mental Health. Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Ann "Edie" Ice will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Darryl Williams officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
