Earnest Edward Acklin

Mr. Earnest Edward Acklin, age 75, of Carbondale, died at 11:36 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at his home in Carbondale. He was born August 13, 1935 in Anna, the son of Lawrence and Elsie Elizabeth Irvin Acklin. He married Glenda Yates on October 19, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Earnest is survived by his wife, Glenda of Carbondale; one brother, Lawrence Gordon Acklin, Grand Rapids MI., several nieces and nephews, Waverly, Debbie, Jeff, Chapperal, Donna, Karen, Wayne Anette, Tressa, and Chris; one step uncle, Andrew Acklin; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Carl Acklin; one sister, Elaine Bishop; step uncle, Stanley, Howard, Edward (Tiny) Acklin. Earnest was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church for many years. He served proudly in the U.S. Army. According to his wishes, Earnest services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
