Mr. Earl N. Frick, age 86 of Jonesboro, died at 2:14 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born June 25, 1928 in Jonesboro, the son of Homer and Carrie Ethel Earnhart Frick. He married Mary Lou Knupp on March 27, 1954 in Anna. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Frick of Jonesboro; one son, Clifford D. Frick of Jonesboro; one daughter, Rita Kelley of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Amanda (David) Hannan of Metropolis, Dr. Michael (Bridget) Boyd of Westmont, IL, Carrie (Chris) Harrell of Chesapeake, VA; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Allison and Kyle Hannan, Miles and Amos Boyd, Avenlee Harrell; one brother, Roy W. Frick of Anna; one niece, Lisa Jo (Scott) Lemon of Midlothian, TX; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sibling. Earl graduated from Anna Jonesboro Community High School in 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953, receiving an honorable discharge, for his honest and faithful service on November 7, 1959. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Earl was employed at the Florsheim Shoe Factory for forty two years, he retired as Commissary Clerk in 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. Funeral services for Mr. Earl N. Frick will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Michael Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team in Marion.
