Dustin Cody Pitts

Dustin Cody Pitts, age 36 of Cobden, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1988 in Carbondale, the son of Pat Pitts. He married Maria Gorety on July 11, 2009.

Dustin is survived by his wife, Maria Pitts; children, Abigail Edith Pitts and Marquez Tomas Pitts; his mother, Pat Pitts; sister, Samantha Taylor; nephew, Klayton Taylor; maternal grandmother, Sue Patterson; mother and father-in-law, Maria Edith and Estanislao Tomas; uncles, Todd, Bruce and David Patterson; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Duke Patterson.

Dustin's greatest love was his family. He truly loved watching his children play in sports, often coaching their teams. Sports was an important part of his life. He enjoyed watching football and MMA and always looked forward to a good fishing trip. Dustin was a great cook and made a great lasagna. He enjoyed Sci-Fi movies and reading about history. He had a wonderful personality, full of charm. He will be dearly missed. Why you ask, because Stone Cold says so.

Funeral mass for Dustin Pitts will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment will follow in St. Jospeh Catholic Cemetery in Cobden. Visitation will take place from 8:00 a.m. until the service hour at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at the church. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Dustin Pitts. Envelopes will be available at the church.
