Dorothy E. Wood

Mrs. Dorothy E. Wood, age 88, of Anna, died at 4:08 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 with her two daughters by her side, in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born June 15, 1928 in Union County, the daughter of Charles P. and Martha Ella (Mangum) Ray. She married Harry Wood in 1970 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He preceded her in death. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Sue Williams and Darla Williams both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Frankie J. Williams and Chantelle Richardson; three great-grandchildren, Aaron McClure, Katelynn Williams and Bryan Williams; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Wood; one son, Frank Williams; three brothers and one sister. Dorothy was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was past President. For many years Dorothy owned and operated her ceramic and quilting business. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy E. Wood will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:30 on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
