Dorothy L. "Dot" Shoemaker

Mrs. Dorothy L. "Dot" Shoemaker, age 72 of Anna, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home. She was born October 11, 1944 in Anna, the daughter of Ernest Ray and Versella Geraldine (Oschmann) Kelley. She married Earl F. Shoemaker on May 25, 1962 in Anna. Dot is survived by her four children, Julie Ann Shoemaker of Anna, Tonika Shoemaker of Hurst, Christopher Shoemaker of Lexington, KY, and Ginger (Clyde) Delk of Rockwood, TN; seven grandchildren, Austin Shoemaker, Rebecca Wilson, Dillon Jurcy, Lane Kayli Piller, Jacob Nagel, Colton Nagel, Addison Nagel and one more on the way; one brother, Allen Ray (Carol) Kelley of Buncombe; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl F. Shoemaker; and one sister, Norma Tite. Dot was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. She worked many years as a teacher aide for Tri-County Special Education. She dearly loved and cared for her kids at Tri-County. Dot was an avid Bingo player, and played as often as she could. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy L. "Dot" Shoemaker will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
