Dorothy Cirilla

Dorothy Cirilla, age 84, of Cobden, Passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1941, in Spokane, Washington.

To know Dorothy was to understand that family is not always defined by blood, but by love, loyalty, and shared life. Her chosen family was a circle of people gathered over the years, who became children, siblings and lifelong friends.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was a devoted follower of Christ, most recently as an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden. She embraced her creative side becoming an artist in her retirement years. Lucky are those who have bought or received a Dorothy Cirilla original painting or greeting card.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Daniel Cirilla; her stepsons, Vito and Daniel Jr.; her stepdaughter, Angela (Jacob) Theesfeld. Most proudly, she received the title of Grandmother in 2010 with her grandson, Benjamin. No one was prouder of their grandson than she. Dorothy's chosen family, near and far, will carry forward her spirit of generosity and connection.

A celebration of life for Dorothy Cirilla will be held from 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden and until Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cobden High School Art Department. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
