Dorothy Astin

    Dorothy Astin, age 87 of Anna, died Monday, August 31, 2026. She was born January 8, 1939 in Illinois, the daughter of William and Velma (Miles) Corzine. On June 16, 1956 she married Alfred Astin. He preceded her in death September 14, 2014.

    Dorothy is survived by two sons, Randall “Randy” Astin and Jerry (Lori) Astin, both of Dongola; grandchildren, Jamie (Paige) Astin and Amy (Steven) Fry; great-grandchildren, Britton and Jameson Astin, and Ryder and Raelyn Plott; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Billy, Delene, and Delmus Corzine.

    Dorothy was very outdoorsy. She loved deer hunting and spending time in nature. She also enjoyed going to auctions, estate sales and thrift stores, almost always coming home with a good find. Dorothy cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

    Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will follow in McGinnis Cemetery, east of Anna. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour of 1:30 p.m. at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
