Doris Faye Bass

Mrs. Doris Faye Bass, age 94 of Anna, died at 10:48 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her home. She was born October 1, 1922 in Union County, the daughter of Louie and Sallie (Dillow) Brimm. She married Charles E. Bass Sr. on December 21, 1940 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2005. Doris is survived by her children, C.E. (Carol) Bass of Anna, Bill (Becky) Bass of Anna, Cindy (Gaylon) Light of Vergennes, and Kelle (Larry) George of Dongola; seven grandchildren, Kerri Taylor of Vienna, Kim Odaniell of Waterloo, Toby Bass of Cobden, Molly Oliver of Cobden, David Light of Ava, Jeremy Light of Perryville, MO, and Ethan Helton of Anna; fourteen great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles E. Bass Sr.; daughter, Sally Helton; two sisters and one brother. Doris worked for the Anna Shoe Company, Union County Hospital and retired from Choate Mental Health and Development Center after working many years as a Mental Health Technician. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, strong and courageous soul. Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Faye Bass will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
