Donna Kay Caraker Sadler, age 70 of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at her daughters home in Cobden after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 6, 1947 in Anna, the daughter of Curtis and Helen (Kirkpatrick) Caraker. Donna Kay is survived by her son, Collin Crews (Lori Williams) of Anna; one daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Sadler of Cobden; four grandchildren, Tyler Sadler (Alexis Charles), Luke Sadler, Ashton (Jake) Casey and Ashton's mother, Deanna (Lane) Cruse, Taylor Crews; two great grandchildren, Paisley and Aliyah Casey; brother, Robert (Betty) Caraker of Anna; sister, Glenda (Larry) Koeller of Winslow; special friends Gerald Bauer and Karen Schlenker; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Landon Tyler Sadler. Donna worked many years at Choate Mental Health as a registered nurse until her retirement. Donna was actively involved in many community activities. She enjoyed Sunshine Inn for seniors. She especially enjoyed activities with the 4H group for kids, many of the children with 4H have grown to know her as MeMaw Donna. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Darryl Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:00 p.m. and until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
