Donald Ray Shadowens

Mr. Donald Ray Shadowens, age 79 of Anna, formerly of Cobden, died at 10:54 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the Carbondale Memorial Hospital. He was born July 3, 1935 in Makanda, the son of Clarence and Ester Boaz Shadowens. He married Ruth Cavaness on September 3, 2004 in Marion, Illinois. Donald is survived by his wife, Ruth Cavaness; one son, Terry Shadowens of Foley Alabama; five grandchildren, Bronson, Bandon, Zach, Alexandra, and Cody; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Jack and Randy Shadowens. Donald was a member of the Carrol P. Foster Post # 3455 V.F.W. Auxiliary. He was a bricklayer and also operated the Tip Top Tavern for many years. Private graveside services for Mr. Donald Ray Shadowens were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Alto Pass Cemetery with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna in charge of arrangements.
