Donald Poole

Mr. Donald Poole, age 84 of McClure, died Friday, September 22, 2017 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born January 31, 1933 in Elco, the son of Forrest Ezra and Maudie Louise (Jordan) Poole. He married Edna (Cates) Basler on December 8, 1991 in Cobden. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Edna Poole of McClure; son, Lyndell (Lisa) Poole of Jackson, MO; daughter, Debi (Darrell) Adams of DeBary, FL; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Garry (Karen) Poole of Anna; Edna's children, Doug (Kathy) Basler of Wichita, KS, Donna (Larry) Mahan of Palmyra, IL, Diann (Bill) Boyer of Murphysboro, Cindy (Steve) Pryor of Grand Tower; her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jackie E. Poole. Donald was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO for many years. He retired after twenty seven years as a Railroad Car Inspector with the Illinois Central Gulf Rail Road. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald was an avid outdoors man, he loved the woods spending time in the woods hunting goldenseal and ginseng. Funeral services for Mr. Donald Poole will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team in Marion.
