Donald Richard Penrod

Donald Richard Penrod, age 77 of Jonesboro, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born September 14, 1941 in Murphysboro, the son of Melvin Richard and Leah Pearl (Sims) Penrod. He married Lois "Janiece" Ellis on November 2, 1964 in Murphysboro. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Lois Penrod of Jonesboro; children, Richard D. (Tammy) Penrod of Murphysboro, Monica S. (Brian) Bartimus of Harrisburg, Michael S. (Jackie) Penrod of Jonesboro, Leslie M. (Thomas E.) Bauman of Dongola and Amanda Sweet and friend (Kirk Randles) of Jonesboro; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Penrod of Anna; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Glenn Rains; and two great-grandsons. Donald was a strong supporter and member of the Trinity Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro. He loved singing, reading, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. Funeral services for Donald Richard Penrod will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 in the Trinity Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Geoff Bond officiating.
