Donald E. Murray, age 81 of Anna, died Monday, August 19, 2019 in Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born July 17, 1934 in Cobden, the son of William and Bertie (Burnett) Murray. He married Linda (McLaren) Graham in Union County. Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Murray of Anna; Linda's children, Susan (Gary) Wright of Cobden, Cathy Sharp (Brad Ellis) of Cobden, Larry Graham of Buncombe; six grandchildren, Chad Wright, Shannon (Ed) Seifert, Gregory Graham, Andrew (Kristy) Sharp, Amy Jo (Kevin) Beegle, Alaina Graham; six great-grandchildren, Serenity and Jayden Graham, Simon and Elliot Seifert, Sophie Wilson, Kase Sharp; brother, Bill (Nadine) Murray of Alto Pass; sisters, Betty Stegle of Anna and Bertie Green of Birmingham, AL; sisters in law, Janice Murray of Anna, Carolyn Murray of Jonesboro, Patsy Murray of Chicago, Edwina Murray of Anna and Mariam Murray of Alto Pass; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step son, Jim Graham brothers, Frankie, Junior, Charlie, Melvin, Jimmy and Bobby; two sisters, Dorothy Burgess and Laverne Highland. Donald worked many years as a truck driver and later as a dispatcher for the Anna Fire Department. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1962. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery. GravesideMilitary rights will be performed by Beggs-Gurley VFW Post #5222 in Vienna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honor Team. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
