Mrs. Debra Dee "Debbie" Jackson, age 61 of Anna, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 2, 1953 in Anna, the daughter of William James and Glenda May Treece Davis. She married Roger Jackson on June 12, 1971 in Anna. Debbie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Jackson of Anna, two sons and daughters-in law, Jim and Sarah Jackson of Stouffville, Ontario and Jason and Jamie Jackson of Sparta, IL; three grandchildren, Cale and Delaney Jackson of Stouffville, Ontario, and Charlie Jackson of Sparta IL; her parents, Bill and Glenda Davis of Anna; two brothers and sisters-in law, Jack and Connie Davis of Canon City, CO, and Randy Davis and Emily Chamness of Marion, IL; eight brothers- and sisters-in-law, Doris and Wayne Whiteside of Dongola, Gary and Linda Jackson of Jonesboro, Ron and Linda Jackson of Elizabethtown, and Pam and Jeff Gee of Carterville; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. Debbie was firmly committed to her family and the families of Southern Illinois. She worked for many years as a Family Service Specialist for Addus Family Services and the Department of Children and Family Services. Through her time with Addus and DCFS, Debbie was tirelessly involved with the Angel Tree program, providing Christmas gifts and food for families in need. She volunteered her services for many summers assisting in the management and day-to-day operations of the concession stand for the Union County Khoury League. Debbie was also a long-time member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and a talented seamstress. Debbie's unflagging commitment to children, families, and her community will be warmly remembered by those who's lives she touched. Funeral services for Mrs. Debra Dee Jackson will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. John Cripps officiating. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Anna V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid Research Program. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral service or can be mailed to Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home or the VFW Treasurer (PO box 857, Jonesboro, Illinois, 62952 for Cancer Aid).
