David O. Wright, 77, of Anna, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2021. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.David was born November 20, 1943 in Berryville, IL the son of Martin "Green" Wright and Effie Mae (Davis) Wright. David married Peggy Swink on February 7, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, IL.He is survived by his wife, Peggy, a daughter Tammy Wright of Jonesboro, a daughter Kathy (Jerry) Rambeau of Anna, a son Rick Wright of Anna and a son Larry (Pam) Wright of Muskogee, OK. David also claimed a very special family friend as his "3rd" daughter, Leslie Harvel of Jonesboro.He is also survived by his Grandsons Kraig Miller of Hoisington, KS, Kyler Keefer of Jonesboro, Riley Sullivan of Anna, Bradley (Kayla) Wright of Brown County, IN, Stephen (Hannah) Wright of Bedford, IN, and Jarred (Jarissa) Wright of West Plaines, MO. David is survived by his Granddaughters Krista Miller of Anna, Savana Rambeau of Anna, Chelsea Wright of Anna, and Leah Wright of Muskogee, OK.He is also survived by Great-Grandchildren Jaycee and Mariah Miller of Jonesboro, Chandler Miller of Hoisington, KS, Lydia Tellor of Anna, and Clayton and Case Wright of Brown County, IN.David is also survived by two brothers, Gerald Wright of Alexandria LA, and Bill (Linda) Wright of Anna, and a sister, Charlotte (Bob) Whitehead of Karnak, IL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents Green and Mae Wright of Berryville, a Mother and Father In-Law, Claude and Mary Swink of Anna, siblings Melvin Wright, Gordon Wright, Clovis Wright, Richard Wright, Bernice Wolf, Pauline Freeman, and Virginia Sivia, several brothers and sisters in - law, nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. David was a member of Local 318 Operating Engineers for 25 years. He enjoyed collecting scrap metal, aluminum, and junking around town. He also enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and singing with his family. In his younger years, he could sound a lot like Elvis when he sang. He rarely met a stranger and had no problem carrying on a conversation. He liked to joke around and have fun, especially with his family. On any given day, if he was at home, you could find him watching a Western, Boxing, a St. Louis Cardinals ballgame, and eating a home cooked meal from "Pag's Kitchen." He will be missed greatly by his family.Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Larry Wright & Jerry Rambeau officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made of Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
