David Allen Tellor died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 8:51 pm in Anna, IL at the age of 78, after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis.David was born July 19, 1942 in Jonesboro, IL to Elmer Henry and Flossie Orrick Tellor. He attended Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, graduating in 1961. After working for 13 years as a surveyor for L. E. Myers Co., he spent the remainder of his career working for Union County and the City of Anna in various positions including the highway dept., public works, housing authority, and zoning board. David had a great love for his community and spent over 30 years as a member of the Anna City Council, serving as mayor for two of those years.David was married to Penny (Wiedlocher) and is survived by two daughters, Claudine (Rick) Bruyns of Centerville, TN and Natalie (Mike) Butler of Greenville, SC. Later he married Marcia (Boyd) and is survived by two children, Tony (Lisa) Boyd of Benton, KY and Susan (Buddy) Hankins of Carterville, IL. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Jerry (Dawn) Boyd, Katherine (Kenny) Mason, Brett (Kelly) Hankins, Erick (Rebecca), Abigayle, Katherine, Benjamin, Nathaniel, and Samuel Bruyns, Mallory (Bruce) Jensen, Meredith (Jared) Sicko, Jennifer (Scot) Simp; eleven great-grandchildren, Jordan and Damon Boyd, Sarah and Allison Mason, Addison Simp, Blake, Kelly, and Lexie Myers, Kiernan (KJ) Hankins, James Jensen, and Penelope Bruyns; two sisters-in-law Lula Bell and Judy Tellor. Additionally, he is survived by many other relatives and devoted friends, including Ron Garner and Charlie Hankins who were like brothers to him.David was a member of both the Moose and Elks Lodges for nearly 50 years and was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna. Before passing, he put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation through faith, "not as a result of works, that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:9).David lived by the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Luke 6:31). Often referred to as "such a good man", he was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all.David is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Flossie; six brothers, Roy, James, Floyd, Hershel, Glenn, and Francis; three sisters, Carrie, Ethel, and Betty; his wife, Marcia; one grandson, Brandon Myers; one granddaughter, Allison Boyd.Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the Anna City Cemetery with Jimmy Keller officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, David requested that donations may be made in his memory to Paws, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or Shriner's Hospitals.
