David A. Hartline

David Hartline, age 44 of Cobden, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born October 22, 1973 in Cape Girardeau, the son of Curtis "Corky" and Lou Ann (Shadowens) Hartline. David is survived by his children, Alaina, Jenna, Connor and Colby Hartline all of Cobden; mother, Lou Ann Hartline of Cobden; two brothers, Steve (Lisa) Hartline of Anna and Danny (Charlotte) Hartline of Cobden; friend, Rhonda Dean and her children, Austin Naeger, Jase Hutchason, Mason Dean and Gage Meyer all of Cobden; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden. He worked for the Federal Prison System in Marion and later the Union County Ambulance Service as an EMT. He currently worked as a painter. He was a life member of the Coal Belt Fire Association, a former member of the Cobden Lions Club and was retired from the Cobden Fire Department. David was an official with IHSA and a member of the Southern Illinois Egyptian Officials Association. Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Cobden with Pastor Ed Falgout and Pastor Matt Hartline officiating. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. and until the service hour Wednesday, October 10 at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cobden Youth Group. Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
