Dallas R. Clendenin

Dallas R. Clendenin, age 77 of Ware, died at 7:30 am, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1934 in Wolf Lake, the son of Dallas B. and Nancy (Hamel) Clendenin. Dallas married Alice M. Reed on September 21, 1952 in Jonesboro and she preceded him in death on July 19, 1999 Survivors include one daughter, Becky Jackson of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Heather Scott and Mia Scott both of Ware; five step-grandchildren, Terry Jackson, James Jackson, Morgan Jackson, Bradly Jackson and Ashly Jackson all of Chester; sixteen step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, John Clendenin; one sister, Mae Knupp and a nephew, Denzel Clendenin. He was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Chester. Dallas also proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Trojan Powder Company in Wolf Lake. Funeral services for Mr. Dallas Clendenin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Pastor Jeff Chandler officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
