Dale Lynn Pender

Dale Lynn Pender, age 69 of Anna, died Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Marion Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1955 in McLeansboro, the son of Jimmie D. and Vernita May (Miller) Pender.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Kim (Adam) Dillon of Anna; sons, Travis "T.J." Pender of Missouri, Randy Pender of Peoria; grandchildren, Logan Thompson, Niya and Bella; brothers, Danny (Martha) Pender of Marion, Darrell (Cindy) Pender of Jonesboro, and Dennis Pender of Alto Pass; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Randy Gayle Pender.

Dale honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1973 to 1975 during the Vietnam Era. He had an extensive knife collection and enjoyed crafting sheaths for them, as well as making jewelry.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Pastor Tim Pender officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honor Team of Marion. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. and until the service hour at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion VA Medical Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
