Cynthia Jane Benson

Ms. Cynthia Jane Benson, age 59 of Anna, died at 8:36 a.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017 in the Herrin Hospital. She was born July 13, 1957 in Aurora, the daughter of James William and Margarette Francis (Cunningham) Benson. Cynthia is survived by her mother, Fran (Joe) Waldrop of Tuscola; father, James (Jean) Benson of Jackson, TN; siblings, Michael Benson, Marcia (Marlo) Woolcott, Joe (Laura) Benson, Stephen Benson, Mathew Benson; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark D. Benson. Cynthia enjoyed her career as a legal secretary for over twenty years. When not at work she loved hiking with her three dogs and close friends. Her hobbies included gardening and playing piano. Cynthia's favorite hobby was sewing, she loved designing her own clothing. She was an avid collector through her life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of life for Ms. Cynthia Jane Benson will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Giant City Park in Makanda.
