She was born November 3, 1913 in Ullin, IL, the first child of D.A. and Florence Holcomb Burgeois. She moved with her parents and brother Douglas to Cypress where she spent her grade school years. Because of her father's health, they moved to Los Angles where she graduated from Burbank Junior High. The family moved back to Cobden in 1928 where she graduated from Cobden High School in 1932.In September 1932 Connie and Everett eloped to Elmhurst, IL where they were married by a former Union County minister whom they both knew. Everett preceded her in death on June 13, 2002.During WWII Everett was declared "4-F", but after a discussion with Connie he joined the Merchant Marines, leaving Connie to carry on with the business; Union County Oil Company. And carry on she did! There were times Connie had to drive the gas tank wagon in an emergency. Following Everett's retirement, they enjoyed the winter months in sunny Florida. Connie was a loving Christian, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. If anyone in the family needed some extra prayers all they had to do was ask "Grandma Connie". As one grandchild said "I'd rather have Grandma Connie praying for me than anyone I know".She was faithful to her Church, teaching many years in the primary department of the Sunday school and Bible School. After she was unable to attend Church, she kept her faith strong through meditation, Bible study and many, many prayers. Connie will be deeply missed by family and all who knew and loved her.Constance is survived by her two daughters, Beverly McKinney of Anna and Linda Knauer of Murphysboro; four grandchildren, Brian (Debbie) McKinney of Jerseyville, Miriam (Eric) Winder of Decatur, Thomas Bailey III of Mt.
