Clifton E. 'Port" Moreland

Clifton E. "Port" Moreland, 83 of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 23, 1936 in Union County, Illinois to Eual E. "Doc" Moreland and Irma (Sronce) Moreland. He married Beverly Phillips on April 17, 1997, she preceded him in death on April 8, 2014.Clifton is survived by his children, Bruce A. Moreland of Jonesboro; Terri (Tom) Pinnick of Westfield, IN; Diane (Darryl) Harvell of Jonesboro; Brian Moreland of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Clint Moreland, Dustin Moreland, Cassandra Cunningham, Charlotte Pilate, Cole Moreland, Bruce Moreland, Jr., Crystal Duncan, Jessica Dean, Derek Harvell and Lindsay Pinnick; 6 great grandchildren, Dillon Moreland, Brent Duncan, Payton Pilate, Matthew Pilate, Aria Dean and Brigham Dean; 2 brothers, Sonny (Sue) Moreland and Wayne (Juanita Land) Moreland both of Jonesboro; other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly and 1 son, Kenneth E. Moreland.Clifton proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.Due to current health concerns, private graveside services with military honors for Clifton E. "Port" Moreland will be held at St. Johns Cemetery in Dongola. Clifton's family will announce a location and time to celebrate his life at a later date.Memorial contributions can be made to the Illinois Veteran's Home Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
