Cletus McLane, age 65 of Metropolis, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was born February 17, 1956 in Cook County, IL, the son of Raymond Roy "Speedy" and Mable Geraldine (Mayberry) McLane. He married the love of his life, Rebecca "Becky" Miller on August 6, 1977. Cletus is survived by his wife, Becky McLane of Metropolis; two sons, Cletus William Jr. "CJ" (Rachel) McLane of Metropolis, Matthew Alston (Bethany) McLane of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leah Beth, Trenton, Josiah, and Caleb; two brothers, Leon (Myra) McLane and James (Bonnie) McLane all of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren. Cletus was called to preach at the age of 17 at the Elco Youth Camp and has continued to preach for 47 years. He has pastored the last 3 years at the Anchor of Hope Pentecostal Church in Metropolis. Cletus loved doing mission work in Mexico and Honduras throughout the years. He loved his church and church family and spending time with his family and all his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro with Rev. Danny Swinnea officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Mission Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro.
