Mr. Clay Coleman Ramsey, age 85 of Marion, formerly of Jonesboro, died at 3:27 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Parkway Manor in Marion. He was born November 12, 1930 in Truman, AR., the son of Henry and Vina (White) Ramsey. Clay is survived by his son, Steve Ramsey of Jonesboro; daughter, Michelle Kell of Alto Pass; two step daughters, Sondra Craig of Anna and Melodie Cast of Cobden; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Ramsey of Salem; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Clay Ramsey, one brother, Junior Ramsey and one sister, Nancy Rodgers. Clay was a heavy equipment operator and member of Local 318 Operating Engineers for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services for Mr. Clay Coleman Ramsey will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Robert Nolen officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. honor guard team. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
