Clarence "Jack" Lilly

Clarence "Jack" Lilly, age 77 of Oraville, died at 7:15 pm, Sunday, December 25, 2011 in the V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. He was born on July 6, 1934 in Woodpeck, West Virginia, the son of Stennie Caperton and Goldie Myrtle Agnes (Griffith) Lilly. He married Virginia Rinehart on November 30, 1956 in Arlington, VA and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2006. Clarence proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was an avid hunter and he loved music and playing guitar. During their life together, he and Virginia loved dancing. Clarence made his home at the Community Living Center at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion during his final years and was of the Baptist faith. Clarence is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Dan) Gulley of Valier, Sheila Rae of Oraville, Alisa Caraker of Henderson, Nevada; one son, Ray Lilly of Carterville; three grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Lilly of Cool Ridge, WV, Lou Ann (Charles) Loveday of Cool Ridge, WV; one brother, Stennie B. "Johnny" (Jackie) Lilly of Lewisburg, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Rinehart) Lilly; his parents, Stennie and Goldie Lilly; one granddaughter, Amanda Gulley; two brothers, Kenneth and James Lilly and one sister, Helen Oakes. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Friends may call Thursday, December 29 from 5:00 until 7:30 pm at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer society and envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
