Clara M. Nehring

Mrs. Clara M. Nehring, age 73 of Vergennes, died at 4:57 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the HeliaHealthcare in Energy. She was born May 27, 1944 in Anna, the daughter of O. Ordell and Wanda (Barnhart) Goodman. She married George Nehring on May 18, 1990 in Jonesboro. Clara is survived by her loving husband, George Nehring of Vergennes; daughter, Pam (Tony) Newman of Lick Creek; son, Robert (Jennifer) Nehring of Du Quoin; daughter, Becky (Wade) Fletcher of Galatia; eight grandchildren, Tony Joe (Britany) Newman, Rebecca Newman (fiancé, Frank), Ashley Cook, Bailey and Elijah Nehring, Madison (Andy) McFarland, Megan and Madison Fletcher; threegreat-grandchildren, Jacalynn Kennedy, Braxton Knupp and Hank Newman; brothers and sisters, Audrey (John) Davis of Jonesboro, Joyce Anderson of Anna, Jerry (Bonnie) Goodman of Wolf Lake, Harley (Linda) Goodman of Phoenix, AZ, Lloyd (Brenda) Goodman of Anna, and Rose Mary (Joe) Perkins of Indianapolis, IN; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Mary Cook; granddaughter, Kimberly Cook; sister, Dottie Lipe; infant sisters, Cheryl Ann and Bonnie Gale Goodman; brothers in law, Larry Anderson and Cletus Davis. Clara was of the Baptist Faith. She worked many years as a cook at various restaurants. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Funeral services for Mrs. Clara M. Nehring will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in Tripp Memorial at Dutch Ridge. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
