Clara L. Cain, age 96 of Jonesboro, went home to her Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was born October 9, 1929 in Douglas County, the daughter of Gordon Nelson and Desta Opal (Anderson) Peddycoart. She married Clifford D. Cain on December, 12, 1946 in Tuscola. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2020.
Clara is survived by her two daughters, Donna Morse of Jonesboro, and Brenda Schlenker of Anna; son, Phillip Cain of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Bratton, Rebecca (Marc) Korb, Sheldon (Jenna) Casper, Sonja Cain, Rachel Frazier and Justin Cain; great-grandchildren, Emma and Ben Bratton, Christopher Mowery, Hannah (Jason) Drew, Malayna Korb, Journey, Elijah and Zeke Casper, Rhiannon Korando, Cameron Clifton, Anthony, Rylan and Ava Frazier; great-great-grandchildren, Miles Jarett and Charli Hughart; sister, Nancy Morecraft of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Cain; husband, Clifford D. Cain, and eleven siblings.
Clara was a member of the Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake for over fifty years. She was a light to others, sharing the love of Jesus Christ through her work with the Haven House, No Greater Love Ministries, and the Union County Alliance of Churches.
A joyful celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Scott Harner officiating. Interment will follow at the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. and until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be mad in Clara's name to a charity of your choice.
