Clara Nell Butler, age 88 of Anna, died Monday, October 4, 2021 in the Integrity Healthcare in Anna. She was born August 23, 1933 in McLeansboro, the daughter of Loran Charles and Edna Elder (Gibson) Gollihur. She married Earl Clayton Butler on July 29, 1959 in Anna. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1998. Clara Nell is survived by her four children, Tracy (Dale) Butler of Anna, Lee Butler of Anna, Sue (Todd) Hileman of Jonesboro, Mary Jane (Richard) Bennett of Cobden; three grandchildren, Tyler (Zarah) Hileman, Kristi Craig and Kenneth Craig; seven great-grandchildren, Conor, Harrison, Penelope, Tillie, Jonah, Olivia and Zander; sister, Bonnie (Alfred) Rubenacker of Piopolis; brother, L.C. Gollihur of McLeansboro; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clayton Butler. Clara Nell was a long time member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian woman, and at one time very involved in her church. She retired from Choate Mental Health Center, and after retirement she volunteered with the Red Cross Relief Efforts going where she was needed to help provide meals for those in need. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Senior Circle and the Shawnee Development Council. Clara Nell enjoyed playing dominos with her girlfriends, traveling and loved to laugh. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Darryl Williams and Scott Harner officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Anna Heights Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Those attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering.
