Charlie Ray Smith

Charlie Ray Smith, age 81 of Balcom, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the River to River Community Living Center. He was born July 5, 1940 in Union County, the son of Merle and Velda (William) Smith. He married Linda Smith. She preceded him in death. Charlie was a member of East Hartford Baptist Church of Hartford, KY. He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic at Charlie's Diesel in Hartford, Ky as well as farming. Charlie is survived by his children, Carol (John) Messamore of Anna, Connie (Stephanie) Smith of Oxford, NC and Nathan (Dianna) Smith of Anna; step children, Greg (Stacy) Boyd of Beaver Dam, KY, and Teresa Renfro (Marty Smith) of Hartford, KY; grandchildren, Nikita and Cassia Smith, Kelly and Kaity Messamore, Kori Bennett, Kailei Hart, Gracey Boyd, Raquel White, Wayne (Kendra) Renfro, Amber Smith, and Justin Smith; 10 great grandchildren; step mother, Ida Mae Smith of Anna; sister, June Qualls of Cape Girardeau, MO; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Smith. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Beech Grove Church in Wolf Lake with Rev.
