Mr. Charles "Waylon" Heckes, age 73, died Thursday, December 25th, 2014 at 4:15 p.m. at his home in Wolf Lake. Charles was born June 9, 1941 in Anna, the son of George and Minnie Geneva Frogge Heckes. He married Judith Burke on February 10, 1967 in Jonesboro. Charles was a railroad mechanic for 20 years and also worked at Illini Ready Mix. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Judith Heckes of Wolf Lake; two daughters, Lisa Hileman, of Jonesboro, Dea Ann Thompson and fiancé Eric Henry Boner of Ware; six grandchildren, Kyle Bond and fiancé Nicole, Brandie (Jimmy) Watkins, Maddison Thompson, Jesika Butler and fiancé Quentin, Dalton Mayberry, Tyler Hileman; four great-grandchildren, Chevy Watkins, Quanya Townsend, Morgan Bond, Juillian Bond; one brother, Roger Dale Heckes of Granite City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Melissa Anna Falkenburry. Funeral services for Mr. Charles "Waylon" Heckes will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Mayberry officiating. Interment will be in the Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower, IL. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
