Charles R Hartline

Charles R. Hartline, age 74 of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Union County, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at his home. He was born on February 24, 1949 in Anna, the son of Frank and Eva (Hoyle) Hartline. He married Nancy Lowell on June 21, 1989 in Paducah, Kentucky.

Charles is survived by his sons, Charles (Kiya) Hartline, Jr. and Chad Hartline (Jamihia Walker); brothers, Frank Hartline, Jr. and Bobby Absher; a host of grandchildren; special friend, Karen Stilley; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl and Donald Hartline; sisters, Shirley Isaacs and Sue Absher, and his beloved wife, Nancy.

Charles was the youngest of seven siblings. He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a deputy for the Union County Sheriff's Department and retired from the United States Penitentiary in Marion. Charles enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends and loved his dogs, Boo and Jubilee.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be private. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
