Celia (Parcell) Barker

Celia Barker, age 90 of Crisman, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was born on May 12, 1935 in Rock Island, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Janet (Slicker) Parcell. She married Fredrick Dwane Barker, he preceded her in death on December 12, 2003.

Celia is survived by her loving son, David Barker of Paxton; three grandchildren, Matthew Barker, Steve Barker and Tacara Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Sarai and Devon Jackson, Bradley Baker; brother, Charles (Sarah) Parcell of Chicago; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwane Barker; infant son, Duane E. Barker; and brother, Samuel B. Parcell.

Celia enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Jonesboro. Interment will immediately follow. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
