Cecil O. Toler

Mr. Cecil O. Toler, age 93 of Dongola, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born October 23, 1923 in Union County, the son of Jesse and Lucinda (Brasel) Toler. He married Marilyn Langholf on September 25, 1948 in Ogle County. Cecil is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Marilyn Toler of Dongola; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and four sisters. Cecil was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He started his working career at the age of sixteen, in a printing press in Mt. Morris, IL. He later moved to Washington, DC and worked as a printer for the United States Government. Cecil was a member of the Cobden American Legion, the V.F.W. in Oregon, IL and the Disabled American Veterans. Funeral services for Mr. Cecil O. Toler will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion.
