Cathy Elkins Freeman

Cathy Elkins Freeman, age 62 of Jonesboro, died Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born July 20, 1959 in Anna, the daughter of Robert and Geneva (Tucker) Elkins. She married Michael Freeman on February 14, 1999 in Jonesboro. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Michael Freeman of Jonesboro; mother, Geneva Elkins of Jonesboro; sister, Sheryl Netherton of St. Joseph; aunt, Eva Anderson of Normal; two step-children, Dustin and Miranda Freeman of Paducah, Ky; numerous cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Elkins. Cathy attended Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro for many years. She was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services where she worked for almost thirty years. She loved to spend time with her friends going shopping and out to eat. Cathy was a caregiver at heart, seeing to the needs of her family and always there to help anyone in their time of need. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Mark Goins officiating. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle.
