Catherine "Cathy" Dailey

Cathy Dailey, age 78 of Jonesboro, gained her heavenly angel wings, passing peacefully on August 24, 2018 at her home. She was born in Ware on May 31, 1941 in her home delivered by her Grandmother Smith. She was born the daughter of Curtis Lee and Francis Irene (Smith) Hancock. She married Bill J. Dailey on September 21, 1957 in Tennessee. Bill and Cathy shared four children together, Rick, Curtis, Donnie and Tammy. Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Bill Joe Dailey of Jonesboro; son, Donnie Dailey; daughter, Tammy (Carlos) McKinney of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Land, Miranda (Mathew) Morgan, Amanda (Chris) Jerrell, Natalie Dailey, Donnie "Bub" (Melissa) Dailey, Zeke Baggott and Kiel McKinney; great grandchildren, Madilyn Hinkle, Abigail, Xailex and Keivin Morgan, Christopher and Maycee Jerrell, Kiley Dailey, Kaitlyn Starr, Daulton Mixen, Ali, Eleison and Zella Baggott; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and two sons, Rick J. Dailey and Curtis L. Dailey. Cathy was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Axillary for many years. Cathy was a special person who made many friends in her time here on earth. If you had the opportunity to know her, then you know she could light up a room with her sweet personality and her infectious smile. She had a heart of gold and truly loved her family and her friends too. "A special thanks extended to friends for food, thoughts and prayers and especially to Margie Dailey. Your selflessness through all of this and for your help and heart you gave to Cathy. Our sincerest gratefulness to you. Also our sincerest gratitude to Carolyn Bostain for her thoughtfulness and help. Thank you to the hospice nurse, Jamie for your sincere and most genuine love and care you gave to Cathy but our family as well. We thank you for caring for her and loving her like your own family, she was lucky to have you. And to Cathy's Residential ladies for your kindness and care. We will always remember everything and she couldn't have had a better team on her side." Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Randy Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service at 1:00 on Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
