Kenneth "Carter" Dallas, 69, of Anna, passed away on May 29, 2024 in Overland Park, Kansas, his daughter and son-in-law by his side. Carter was born on April 27, 1955 in Anna, the son of Floyd & Edna Clayton Dallas.
Carter is survived by his daughter, Brandy (Patrick) Leary of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Morgan (Matt) Bodnar of Raleigh, North Carolina; Jack Leary and Ryan Leary of Overland Park, Kansas; Amanda Leary of Austin, Texas; brother, Mel (Gail) Dallas of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Gwen (J.D.) Tripp of Anna, Illinois. As well as nephews and nieces, Clark Dallas of Austin, Texas; Britton Dallas of Lockport, Illinois; Alyssa (Chris) Solomon of Cobden, Illinois; Jaryt Tripp, of Denver, Colorado; and a lifelong friend, Donald Gene Cunningham; other special relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Edna Dallas.
Carter became a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro as a young child. He had many special Bible verses and talked daily with the Lord. He was an exceptionally hard worker; retiring from Anna Quarries after 45 years of dedicated service. He had a huge heart and would do anything in the world for the people he loved. He was a beloved dad, brother, papa, and uncle.
Carter lived a very physical lifestyle in his younger years; he enjoyed running, snow skiing, boating, water skiing, and earned a black belt in karate. He was a collector of many things - including motorcycles and cars. He was an avid outdoorsman for many years and spent countless hours riding his side-by-side to his favorite hunting and fishing spots. He liked to travel and spend time in Florida during the winter months. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and Gunsmoke.
Funeral services for Carter Dallas will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will follow at Anna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
Memorials can be made to Residential Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. His family expressed sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff of Hospice, especially his nurses Shelly and Missy, for the excellent care they provided to their father, brother, and papa during his illness.
