Carroll W Mowery

Mr. Carroll Mowery, age 77 of Dongola, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born April 5, 1939 in Mill Creek, the son of Glenn Ernest and Lois Ina (Lingle) Mowery. He married Joyce Hileman on June 7, 1958. Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Mowery of Dongola; two sons, John (Lora) Mowery of Mill Creek, and Mark (Teresa) Mowery of Dongola; one daughter, Carla (Joe) Roach of Stonefort; six grandchildren, Christina Mowery, Caleb Mowery, Callie Mowery, Jeff (Brittany) Roach, Greg Roach (Jillian Hanbaum), Heather Feldscher; four great-grandchildren, Landon Roach, Tanner Roach, Nick Feldscher Tara Feldscher; two sisters, Eloise Mowery of Jonesboro, and Shirley Poole of Vienna; brother in law, Gib DeWitt of Chana, IL; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel DeWitt and one granddaughter. Carroll was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dongola. He was born on the family farm in Dongola. Carroll worked with his father and in later years he purchased the farm to continue the family business of farming and raising cattle. Funeral services for Mr. Carroll Mowery will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 in the St. John Lutheran Church in Dongola with Pastor Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery in Dongola. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johns Cemetery or the St. Johns Lutheran Church.
